How much does the Instructors Course cost?
£295 (including pre-course Correspondence Learning and Materials)
What is included in the course?
2 day's tuition and mentoring, tea/coffee and light refreshments, Hour of Power Instructor training DVD, copy of the bespoke music, Instructor's vest.
Are there any Licence fees?
Yes, a licence fee is charged to all active instructors (see definitions below) on a monthly basis and a yearly basis for non active instructors (min £35 per annum)
How long is the licence fee at the current prices?
The licence fee is frozen at the current monthly subscription until January 2012, when it will be reviewed. It should be noted that the current fees are introductory during 2011 and may well increase slightly, nearer to industry norms, in 2012.
What licence do I need (Individual or Club)?
The main difference is your remuneration for being an instructor; Individuals either run their own class in a hired hall or studio, or are freelance (self employed) and not employed by the club / gym that they operate from. If you are employed by a gym or health club then they will pay the license fee and pay you according to the terms of your employment with them.
What’s the difference in license fees?
Individuals (1 class per week) = £10 per month
Individuals (2 or more classes per week) = £20 per month
Club (unlimited classes) = £40 per month
What is an active instructor?
An instructor that is currently taking classes on a regular basis and has a fully paid license fee account, suitable PI insurance in place & has also met the Hour of Power CPD requirements to maintain competency as an instructor.
What is a non-active instructor?
A non-active instructor is a qualified instructor that is not currently teaching classes; non active instructors are required to pay a membership fee of £35 per annum to maintain their status as a qualified status – failure to do so will mean that full training is required including attending the 3 day certification course again.
What is a trainee instructor?
A trainee instructor is one who has completed a full seminar and 2-day instructor’s course but is yet to submit/complete their exam or practical assessment.
Do I have to take any further courses in the future?
Yes – to keep your active instructor status you will need to complete at least one Refresher course each year to reinforce the theories, principles, and safety elements that were covered in the first course.
Can I cancel my license fee?
Yes – If you give us 1 months notice in writing with a brief explanation of why you need to stop teaching you can then stop your payments. N.B. You will also be required to return your Training DVD, manual, music CD, instructor’s vest and license card
